Day 1: Istanbul, Turkey

TURKEY!!!    2/9/13

Today we went to Turkey, Istanbul! It was very FUN!!! We went to these places: The Topkapi Palace, The Grand Bazaar (Market), The Sultanamhet Mosque (that was so AMAZING!) & then last of all, we went to the Egyptian Spice Market!!! The Spice Market was my favourite because they sold Turkish-Delights which are one of my favourite foods!

When we were on that mini trip around and about Istanbul, we actually did more (Way MORE) walking than going in a Taxi / Tram or a Metro. For some reason it was not that hard for me to do all of that walking!!! After one more day in Istanbul, the next place that we are going to in Europe is Sofia in Bulgaria.

I'm also excited about going there! The only thing I dislike about Turkey is that too many people smoke. We found that in the restaurants as well. Grandpa would not like it at all!

In Istanbul there are a lot of Muslims so at sun rise (5:30am) loads of people would come to all different Mosques and shout out their praying words (It so NOISY!). They also do that at night time.

We are staying near this tower called Galata Tower

In Turkey the time that people stay up is completely different to Bangkok. All of the Turks would all stay up late until 12:00am with all of their children!

Bridget did a wee in her pants and she wore her undies for most of the day

So far, I have really liked Turkey and Istanbul and I am looking forward to tomorrow!

Love Clare
